Orders Awaiting Delivery

The furniture industry along with other import industries are continuing to experience unprecedented delays in sourcing and delivering product from oversees. COVID had and continues to have a huge impact around the world with regard to manufacture and shipping of goods, we are still seeing ongoing issues with supply due to further Covid restrictions around the globe and the huge impact this is having on vessels leaving and arriving at the port. As a result, availability and delivery of stock are still subject to change, especially for a product that has not left the port of origin. 

The situation today is still extremely challenging and difficult to predict with any certainty.  China and other countries in the Far East (e.g. Malaysia and Vietnam) have seen a resurgence in Covid-19 cases, resulting in port closures and lockdown measures (Malaysia went into total lockdown on 1 June, except for essential sectors, and this lockdown has now been extended until the 28 June). Some international ports are currently only operating at around 30% capacity, which has resulted in reduced exports and in many cases major shipping lines omitting to call at those ports altogether, possibly until July. This is having a knock-on impact on the availability of empty containers, many of which are stacking up in the wrong place, and the ability to move goods from factory to port as truck drivers and vehicles are also in short supply.  Moving goods to other ports is being undertaken but this is causing further congestion and many suppliers are having to deal with stocks sitting in ports or at factories that cannot be transported as originally planned.

We are working very closely with manufacturers and shipping companies to reduce this lead time, but please bear with us during this time. We will keep you informed when we receive any news of delays and where possible offer you alternatives. Once you place your order with us, we allocate stock to your order so that it is reserved only for you. As we receive updated information on the position regarding products on the water and the situation changes, we will endeavour to inform you of this.  In the meantime, please continue to be aware that the dates shown on the website are the dates we are informed of and may be subject to change.  Please bear with us on this and accept our apologies for any inconvenience this causes you.

As always, our delivery teams will abide by social distancing guidelines and we ask customers to do the same and as usual, our teams have full PPE and undergo risk assessments with customers with safety being our top priority.
